Bram De Jonghe (1985) is an artist who can turn the most impossible space into a wonderland full of strange objects and absurd ideas.

In his first exhibition at Dürst Britt & Mayhew’s much the same thing happens.

At first glance one might think that this is an exceptionally ordinary white-cubish exhibition for De Jonghe.

However, his individual works are so unusual and so un-white-cubish that you’ll find yourself in an absurd wonderland when visiting anyway.

Put your ear to one of the tubes or other objects and you will hear that the sea is not far away in this old garage.

White cube or not these objects surround you as a group of characters that, in their own absurd way, will tell you more than the usual nonsense that forces itself on you outside in the street or in your smartphone….
